Milne's High School

Milne's High School is a secondary school, located in the village of Fochabers, Moray.
The school's feeder primaries are Milne's Primary School, Lhanbryde Primary School and Mosstodloch Primary School.
The school is divided into three houses: MacKintosh, Sivewright and Munro
==History==
The school was established in the 19th century, using a legacy from Alexander Milne, a successful businessman in New Orleans, who originally came from Fochabers, having moved to the USA after refusing to have his hair cut while employed by the local laird at Gordon Castle.
The current school building was built in five phases during the 1980s, moving down from the old building at the east of the village (a magnificent neo-Gothic building designed by (Mackenzie )], which now houses Milne's Primary School) one phase at a time.
The main part of the building, now containing the school offices, Library, General Purpose Hall, medical room, Learning Support, Geography, History, Modern Studies and Music Departments opened in 1982.
This was followed by a block containing the English, Maths, Computing and Business Studies Departments. The block containing Science, Modern Languages and Home Economics Departments was added next, and then another block containing the Art, Technical and Religious Education Departments.
With completion of the fifth phase in 1989, containing the Games Hall, relocated PE changing rooms, canteen and additional music practice rooms, the phased move to the new site was complete. An assembly was held to mark the completion of the new building, which was officially opened by James A.D. Michie, Director of Education for Grampian Regional Council.
In 2009, all weather sports pitches, for football, hockey and tennis were completed. There is currently work ongoing to add a Community Leisure Facility and relocated Library (planned to open in 2010) which will provide an excellent resource for the community for years to come.
The current rector is Miss Woods. The previous rector is Carol Stuart〔(Milne's High School on the Moray Council website )〕 who took over in 2008 from Gordon McPherson. His predecessor as rector was Lindsay Matheson.
In 2014, an education review suggested that Milne's be closed and its pupils attend neighbouring schools.〔https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/tag/milnes-high-school/〕 A final decision is due in 2015.
